I'm the Same Girl You Met Yesterday

Yeah yeah, I know I look different compared to the day before but trust me. I'm the same person. The only difference is my hair. This hairstyle is obviously in braids and is dark brown while the the other hairstyle was a short light brown bob. But I'm going to be upfront with you, that that, dear reader, was a wig. And I'll be the first to admit it. I just recently starting wearing it for the fun of it (I've always wanted to try out short hair but have never put the scissors to my own mane) although I do NOT plan to wear it all the time. I think my semi-long dark curly hair defines me (and yes it's my real hair this time-even if it is in braids). My hair makes me feel exotic and just different. And by different I mean in that, yes-I-enjoy-being-mixed-and-will-proudly-admit-my mother-is-from-the-islands-and-both-of-my-parents-have-bestowed-me-their-awesome-features-hence-my-appearance sort of way.

 The weather was beautiful outside.

I'm perfectly aware that it is still winter but I felt like dressing as if I was heading to the beach. Well, that and I have been eyeing this Chico's skirt that's been hanging in my mom's closet for ages and just had to wear it. The hat is a souvenir my mom bought from her vacation in Florida a while back and the earrings are from Charlotte Russe. The shirt I am wearing is from Burlington. I purchased it forever ago and I've been itching to wear it. So you can only guess my delight with the warm weather and can only imagine how fast I reached for it. It was near 80 degrees outside, why wear shoes? :)

A Warm Breezy Friday

I really do love this dress that I am wearing. One of my awsome best friends bought it for me for my birthday last year and I continue to wear it. I always feel just a little bit more mystical and proper with it on. Even more so since it reminds me of Alice and wonderland. I thought the day was going to be cold so I paired it with thick grey knee high socks that I bought ages ago from shii with a pair combat boot I got from marshalls. The white scarf I believe is from rue21 and the watch that you will later on notice is from target (I'm proud to state that I got it for ten dollars). The day suprisingly turned warm if not slightly hot but I thanked god that we were graced with a slight breeze.

Did you notice the heart shaped mark on my upper right arm? No, your eyes are not playing with you. That's my birthmark. Don't believe me? Most people that meet me don't either until they try to rub the mark off to only fail since it is utterly impossiable. The only change is that it seems to have gotten bigger over the years as I have grown, it is probably my favorite feature about myself.

Pets

My family currently has four pets. My mom’s pet is a fluffy Persian cat, my pet is a mutt (an adorable puppy who literally landed at our doorstep), my brother’s pet is a pure bred Brittney Spaniel, and my sister’s pet is a tiny Chihuahua. My mom and sister’s pet has not recently gotten their picture taken but I definitely plan on getting on it soon (I can never get them to stay still!). My dog and my brother’s dog, Honey and Turbo, however, have both graciously allowed me to take their pictures.

There is a little story about Honey. My dog Honey had been a stray a little over a month ago. When she came to our doorstep it was a horribly cold and miserable day. She was wet, and from the sight of her protruding bones-starving. We didn’t think twice on saving her. We wrapped her tiny body in a blanket and my mom took her to the animal hospital. That day she received her shots, and a couple of days later she became a part of our family.

She was given to me since I didn’t have a pet and have been begging for one for ages. She’s playful and totally clumsy but I love it. She has a charm unlike any of our other pets and tends to want our attention all the time. Honey, though much tinier than Turbo, tends to wrestle with him a lot. I like to believe she looks up to him. She wants him to show her the ropes and for him to be around while she settles in.

I think she is completely beautiful and to adorable for words. I mean, look at her! Her spotted nose, her floppy ears, her big brown eyes (she looks like she is wearing black eye shadow but it’s completely natural), and her playful nature is all too much for me. I am completely guilty of spoiling her. If she was your new puppy wouldn’t you spoil her too?
