We Remain

When pressed for time a basic will never let you down. Basics, as I stated before, are an investment. If treated right, they'll last forever and never go out of style compared to the seasonal trends that come and go.
The wonderful things about basics is that you don't have to spend a lot of money. Just time is required. I got this button down while thrifting with friends on Friday. I can't express how much I love it! I can already imagine the days when I'm left clueless on what to wear and finding this shirt to save the day. I can't state this enough, basics are a great investment.

I have always been infatuated with lipstick. However, there's so many different shades, and so many different brands. It can be a little overwhelming when I'm searching for a new color(though that's the story for almost everything that deals with make-up). I find a nice shade of pink or red or even plum to never let me down. Truth be told, I hardly wear any other colors.
There are so many ways one can wear make-up and transform themselves. Though I don't usually stray to far from the basics when it comes to make-up, I believe make-up should emphasize your natural beauty. Not cover it up.
With this in mind I must also state that there isn't anything wrong with eyeshadow, blush, or anything of that sort. As long as it's done in good taste, why not? Lipstick, to me, finishes a look and is my go to item.
What's your go to item?

Glittering Gold and Mermaid Blue

I think that people to often forget about the magic of nail polish. Just like earrings, scarves, and (yes I dare say) to some extent shoes it has the ability to transform an outfit. Nail polish allows for a gal to skimp on the earrings and accessories. It's the accessory often overlooked.

When concerning my own preferences I find that I'm not one to usually indulge in patterns or pictures on my nails, but I love a beautiful color. Something that really contrasts with an outfit or skin tone is always eye catching. Of course, this is just me. I've seen lovely designs on nails that make me second guess this preference.

I must admit, however, that keeping nail polish on one's nails' chip free is a whole other story. I find a second coat of clear nail polish always helpful. At the moment I'm really liking this blue nail polish I'm wearing. I might stick with it for awhile.

Days Like This

I love occasions that call for dressing up. I spent my Valentine's day in this dress my mother had purchased for me from Francesca's Collection. I had spent the day gliding through halls without a care in the world.
Of course I was a bit overdress. I, however, hardly took that into account. Some outfits are meant to be worn all day. If it looks and feels good I don't see why an individual can't do so.
It's always better to be overdressed than underdressed in my opinion. Fashion is meant for expressing one's self and having fun!

I loved this outfit so much that I admittedly wore this dress twice this month (both pictures uploaded here) with the only difference in nail color and a few added rings.

Don't Overlook the Basics

Whenever I feel as if my outfit is lacking I either turn to jewelry or a scarf. Today was one of those days.

I've known the versatility of scarves for quite some time. Scarves can be headbands, belts, an accessory for one's bag, and so much more. The possibilities for a scarf are endless. Therefore, making it a good investment.

However, I've found that not everyone knows of the wonders that scarves can bring. Dear reader, if nothing else, I highly recommend having one. It defiantly comes in handy. A scarf is not just simply a garment to keep one's neck warm in the winter, it's a basic. It can easily add personality to any outfit and it doesn't have to be expensive. A great example is this scarf that I'm wearing with this little black dress. I spent twelve dollars. I can proudly state that it's one of my greatest purchases. It has served me well on several occasions.

For today this scarf adds it's own splash of color that I adore. I believe it adds it's own zest, don't you think?

Cutting and Changing

Recently I felt the need for a change in appearance. Consequently, I cut my hair. I will be honest and add that I feel a bit odd without my accustomed length of hair. Still, I do not regret my decision. With so many changes in life as a senior in high school, it can be overwhelming. I'm learning so many new things. Looking at life with a bit more understanding than before. With college around the corner and many changes in my personal life-I can't quite see things in the same light.
I can't quite look at myself the same way either. I've changed and have grown up into a person that's very different, and in a good way. With so much going on I decided that I wanted to change my look. This haircut is the result. I defiantly love it!

Examine

These are some photos I took a while back during my exams. Life’s been busy and I sincerely apologize for my lack of updates.

Vintage Earrings and bracelet from this great boutique I found in downtown San Antonio. These earrings are easily my most favorite.Next time I intend to take a better shot of them.
